Collagraph and monotype, ?"x?"

Printing a version of this in color was not part of the assignment, but to satisfy my curiosity I wanted to try it anyways. This was the first time I tried to ink a plate with areas of different colors, so I ended up with a couple failed attempts, one of which I have included a picture of below.
The main things that went wrong with this failed attempt was due to my unfamiliarity with colored printmaking ink, which tends to be a little stiffer and more viscous than the plain black oil based printingmaking ink; and I did not soak my paper long enough for it to become saturated with the right amount of water. Looking closely at the failed print, it can be seen that a lot of the ink is piled up on the surface (looks like small bumps of ink that are packed closely together) rather than soaked into the paper, and the white areas are where the paper was too dry to be embossed into the deeper areas of the printing plates. The final colored version of this was printed after lightly in two passes through the press - the first pass was a ghost print made after the failed version, and for the second pass I re-inked the plate with black ink. That it is double printed is evidenced by some lines not quite lining up with each other (easily visible in on the central figure's leg armor) when comparing the black and white version to the colored version.
